Catch the Flava! The Inter-School Dance Battle 2024
On June 22 2024, four schools competed in our new inter-school Breaking dance battle: Catch the Flava!
It was an electrifying afternoon where rhythm met rivalry; and we witnessed the most talented dancers from each school toprock, CC and turtle freeze their way to victory!
The Experience
With Breaking featuring as an Olympic sport this Summer, the format of our event was somewhat similar. Our contenders will competed in:
- Qualification rounds – To see which teams stand out from the crowd
- Elimination rounds – To see which of our artists can battle through to the podium
Followed by:
- An awards ceremony
- A dance workshop for all attendees
- And…Surprises!
- Three Judges – Roxy, Enos and Spin
- The Host – Sqwgglz from HipHop International
- The DJ – D-Bo from La Familia / Chief Rocka
To really reward the young people after several months of hard work, we aimed to make the event as unlike a ‘school day’ as possible.
